This month we pay tribute to Queen Victoria’s significant mark on history by celebrating her 200th Anniversary. The Victorian Age saw Britain as the largest empire in the world. Victoria oversaw the industrial revolution and social transformation of Britain, including the introduction of the railway and the flourishing of factories.
These four commemorative coins depict the different effigies of the Queen that appeared on Australian coins in the 19th Century, including Leonard Charles Wyon’s Queen Victoria with wreaths of Banksia in her hair.
