Due to his support of Pompey in the Roman civil war, Brutus was distrusted by Julius Caesar but would be inevitably pardoned by him after he came to power. This pardon would be a mistake by Caesar as Brutus would be one of the lead conspirator in the assassination of Julius Caesar.
After the Assassination of Caesar, Brutus would withdraw to Macedonia only to be defeated in the battle of Philippi by Julius Caesars heir, Augustus. Brutus would take his own life after his defeat instead of facing a gruesome execution.
Obverse: Bare head of Junius Brutus
Reverse: Bare head of Caius Servilius Ahala
