Product Description:

In Chinese culture, the dragon is revered as a symbol of supreme power and respect. Historically associated with the emperor and his lineage, it represents wisdom, enlightenment, and benevolence. The dragon is also believed to control water and rain, thereby ensuring bountiful harvests and symbolizing wealth and good fortune. Traditional Chinese art often features dragons vying for a pearl, which embodies wisdom and immortality.

Individuals born under the Chinese Lunar Dragon sign in 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, and every twelfth year preceding these are thought to possess qualities of ambition, success, and charisma.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965. The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,888 pieces of the Double Dragon with Mother of Pearl 2024 2oz Silver Proof Coin.

The coin features two majestic dragons amidst a backdrop of clouds, symbolizing their celestial domain. These mythical creatures encircle a meticulously carved mother-of-pearl centerpiece, which showcases a three-dimensional sterling silver rendition of the Chinese character for ‘dragon’. The reverse also includes the inscriptions ‘YEAR OF THE DRAGON’ and a ‘P125’ mintmark, commemorating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary, along with the coin’s weight, purity, and year.

The obverse displays the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the coin’s monetary denomination.

Each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity and is presented in a classic display case. The case is further enhanced by a beautifully illustrated shipper, reflecting the coin's exquisite design and heritage.
