Minted from 1902 to 1910, These coins are highly valued by collectors for their historical significance and serve as a tangile reminder of Australia's early economic and political development.

King Edward VII, or "Bertie", reigned from 1901 until his death in 1910 and accomplished many significant achievements during his reign. He worked to improve Britain's diplomatic ties with other European powers, particularly France, laying the foundation for the Entente Cordiale, a series of agreements between Britain and France that prevented future conflicts. He was also a strong supporter of social reform, promoting public health programs and affordable housing for the poor. Additionally, he was a patron of the arts and helped to support artists and writers during his reign, while also modernizing the British monarchy to make it more accessible to the public. Finally, he supported scientific research, helping to establish the Royal Society of London and fund scientific expeditions, including the discovery of the Burgess Shale fossils in Canada.

Obverse: King Edward VII head right.

Reverse: St George on horseback with sword slaying the dragon
