Queen Victoria Veiled Head Sovereign – Historic British Gold Coin
The Veiled Head Sovereign, minted between 1893 and 1901, was the final gold coin to feature Queen Victoria’s portrait. Designed by Sir Thomas Brock, this depiction showcases an ageing Queen Victoria in full royal regalia, wearing her distinctive mourning veil, which she adopted after the passing of Prince Albert in 1861. She remained in mourning for the rest of her life, earning the title “The Widow of Windsor.”

Coin Highlights:
* Struck in 22-carat gold (91.67% pure)
* Contains 7.98 grams of gold (0.2354 oz pure gold)
* Features Queen Victoria’s Veiled Head portrait, the final portrait used on her coinage
* Reverse depicts St. George slaying the dragon, designed by Benedetto Pistrucci
* the last sovereigns issued during Victoria’s reign

A Historic Gold Coin from the Victorian Era
Queen Victoria’s reign marked the height of the British Empire, earning her the title “Grandmother of Europe” as her descendants married into royal families across the continent. She remains one of the longest-reigning British monarchs in history, with her record only surpassed by Queen Elizabeth II.

The Veiled Head Sovereigns are particularly sought after by collectors, representing the final chapter of Victorian coinage. As gold coins from the pre-Edwardian era, they are a testament to the wealth, prestige, and historical significance of the British Empire.

These coins are highly liquid and globally recognized, making them a superb addition to any gold investment portfolio.
