King Ferdinand Vii's first reign as King of Spain was a tumultuous one as he would be forced to abdicate within the same year he was crowned by Napoleon Bonaparte and was held captive by him for the remainder of the Napoleonic Wars. Five years later Napoleon would agree to reinstate King Ferdinand VII as the rightful ruler of Spain and he would remain King until his death in 1833. His 2nd rule would be a tumultuous one with many invasions taking place and multiple civil revolts.
