Product Description:
This beautiful coin struck in Paris during the last few years of Napoleons Reign.
Graded MS-62 by NGC
First authorized on the 28th of March 1803 by Napoleon Bonaparte, these coins would remain an integral part of the French monetary system for 111 years. They would help to stabilise the economy of the country and the entire continent.
These coins would later be deemed “the Euro before the Euro” as multiple countries throughout Europe including Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Greece, would all develop coins of similar size and with a 20 as their denomination, these coins would be accepted by neighbouring countries interchangeably.
Obverse: Napoleon Emperor laureate head
Reverse: Denomination within an Oak wreath, date below
