The 1 oz Silver Eagle Bullion Coin is a popular silver bullion coin produced by the United States Mint. It was first introduced in 1986 as part of the American Eagle coin program, which also includes gold and platinum versions of the coin.
The 1 oz Silver Eagle Bullion Coin is made from .999 fine silver and has a weight of 1 troy ounce (31.1035 grams). The obverse side of the coin features a modified version of Adolph A. Weinman's iconic Walking Liberty design, which was originally used on the half-dollar coin from 1916 to 1947. The reverse side of the coin features a heraldic eagle design created by John Mercanti, who was the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.
The 1 oz Silver Eagle Bullion Coin has a face value of $1, but its actual value is based on the current spot price of silver. The coin is produced at the West Point Mint
