Product Description:

These magnificent Gilded coins from The Perth Mint celebrate the Year of the Dragon, the fifth of twelve animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar. The dragon is known to be one of the most opportune and powerful signs in the Chinese zodiac. It symbolises strength, success, and good fortune. Chinese astrology describes people born in the years of the dragon, such as 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, and every 12th year before that as confident, ambitious, charismatic, and intelligent.

*Limited mintage of 25,000 coins
*99.99% pure silver
*Numbered certificate of authenticity
*Gilded finish
*125th anniversary mintmark

To outsiders, the figure of a dragon could seem chaotic and overpowering, but in reality, this hides the Dragon’s symbol of strength, confidence and fortune. A dragon should always therefore be viewed as a powerful yet in control figure.

The reverse showcases a gilded dragon beside a flaming pearl seen as the symbol of wisdom. It is expelling water from its mouth surrounded by an immersive wavy backdrop. Below the majestic beast is the Chinese character for ‘dragon’ as well as the inscription “DRAGON 2024”. On this year’s lunar coin the Perth Mint has celebrated its 125th anniversary and included a ‘P125’ mintmark to mark the occasion. The obverse bears the memorial Jody Clark effigy of Queen Elizabeth II complimented by the dates of her reign, the weight, fineness and denomination of the coin.

This edition is shipped in an acrylic capsule with included numbered certificate of authenticity.

Limited mintage of 25,000 coins.
