The Australian Lunar series of gold coins epitomizes The Perth Mints rich tradition of minting investor coins portraying Chinese themes. This Series I release marks 2007 Year of the Pig, one of 12 animals associated with the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.

Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure gold, each coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the undisputed guarantee of its weight and purity. This 1oz coin had a mintage of just 18,149 coins from a worldwide limit of 30,000.

The reverse features a depiction of the Lunar Pig with the Chinese symbol for Pig, while the observe depicts Ian Rank Broadley's depiction of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
