Product Description:

Kookaburras are undeniably Amazing birds, boasting a distinctive appearance with a robust beak and a laugh-like call that echoes through Australian landscapes. Their social nature and strong family bonds, often seen in cooperative hunting and parenting, add a layer of fascination to their character.

As territorial birds, they fiercely defend their space, showcasing a more assertive side. Beyond their behavioral quirks, kookaburras' adaptability to diverse environments, from forests to urban areas, makes them resilient creatures. Embedded in Australian culture, these birds hold a special place in folklore and art, contributing to their cultural significance. With a varied diet ranging from insects to small mammals, kookaburras showcase a dynamic and adaptable approach to survival.

The reverse portrays a kookaburra in flight over a gorge with a snake in its talons. All coin designs incorporate the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth mint’s 125th anniversary, the 2024 year-date, the weight and purity.

The obverse of each coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.

Each coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the coin’s design. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
